A mother and father came to Antano about their daughter. She had begun banging her head on the wall whenever she felt angry. Antano asked one question. How did she learn to do that? The father insisted she had never seen it. They never did such a thing in front of her.

The mother banged her head behind a locked door when frustration peaked. The daughter never saw it. She heard the sound through the wall and installed the pattern. Not taught. Absorbed. Antano did not work on the child. He worked on the mother.

When the mother stopped feeling the anger, the daughter stopped banging her head, and stopped feeling the anger too. The pattern had no source of its own. It was a copy.
